In an exciting new development, 2030hub is thrilled to announce the launch of its Global Goals Week (GGW) Liverpool Ambassadors, aimed at driving sustainability and promoting the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs - also called the Global Goals) across the Liverpool City Region. This initiative seeks to bring together local champions and influencers who are dedicated to sustainability, empowering them to spread awareness of GGW and Liverpool Climate Week (LCW) campaigns to inspire action and debate across Liverpool and the Region’s role as a global citizen.
What is the GGW Ambassador Initiative about?
The GGW Liverpool Ambassadors initiative is a core part of 2030hub's mission to accelerate progress on the SDGs. Each year, Global Goals Week serves as a rallying call for Liverpool City Region to take bold steps toward sustainability, celebrate success, and raise awareness about ongoing challenges.
Our GGW Ambassadors are a group of individuals with proven success in sustainability, each demonstrating a deep understanding of the SDGs and a commitment to making a positive impact. They will engage with leaders across public, private, and nonprofit sectors, providing them with key insights on how they can make a tangible difference in their sustainability efforts. By leveraging their influence, the Ambassadors will ensure that the message of the Global Goals reaches all corners of communities across the region to drive meaningful change.
Introducing the First Ambassador: Sophia Polson
2030hub is proud to announce that Sophia Polson, a local photographer and environmental advocate, has been announced as the first Global Goals Week Liverpool Ambassador and also Ambassador project lead. With nearly a decade of experience in sustainability and communications, Sophia brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to her role in helping drive local and global sustainability efforts.
In 2019, Sophia founded Phase Creative, a boutique creative consultancy that provides bespoke marketing solutions for purpose-driven brands. Her consultancy focuses on authentic and impactful communication, encouraging businesses to not only talk about their sustainability efforts but to visibly demonstrate them.
As a professional photographer, Sophia uses her art to raise awareness of critical social and environmental issues, including the ongoing challenges of climate change. Through her lens, she inspires a deeper reflection on our connection to the planet and the urgent need for action.
"Throughout my career, I’ve made it my mission to tell stories that inspire positive impact," says Sophia. "Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword; it’s about showing real change and action. I’m honoured to join 2030hub as a GGW Liverpool Ambassador, where I can help amplify these crucial messages and motivate others to take meaningful steps toward a better, sustainable future."
Sophia’s unique blend of creativity and environmental advocacy makes her a powerful voice for the Global Goals Week Liverpool campaign. She will play a key role in promoting the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, raising awareness, and driving innovation across the Liverpool City Region and globally.
Join 2030hub and Sophia Polson for our first Ambassador event - a cosy one-to-one interview entitled ‘What's the Amazon Rainforest Got To Do With Liverpool?’
How do we get more Liverpool City Region people to care about climate, and take one additional extra action? Fresh from her recent journey to the Brazilian Amazon rainforest, Sopha will share her inspiring story, insights from living alongside the Kayapo Indigenous peoples, her passion for using visual storytelling to inspire environmental change and how it connects to us locally.
