What is B Corp Month you ask?
Put simply, B Corp Month is a celebration of businesses that prioritise both financial success and a positive impact on society and the environment. Amplified by a global campaign that takes place throughout March, it is aimed at raising awareness of the B Corp movement and the power of business to drive change. During this month, businesses around the world host events, online workshops and engage in various other activities to highlight their work and the impact they have on climate and their communities.
The goal of B Corp Month is to inspire others to join the movement and make a positive impact through business. By highlighting the success and positive impact of B Corps, our hope is that more businesses will see the value of prioritising both financial success and social and environmental impact.
What does it mean for Liverpool City Region?
B Corp in the UK has grown over 100% in the past year and is the fastest growing territory in the world. 2030hub wants Liverpool to be the fastest growing region in the fastest growing country!
It is inspiring to see how much the B Corp movement has grown in the UK over the past few years and we are particularly excited to see a national focus on expansion across the North West. As we celebrate the power of business to drive positive change, we hope that our efforts serve as a call to action for more companies to become B Corps and use their businesses to create a better world. There are plenty of other Certified B Corporations across the region that will be joining us in this effort to mobilise the LCR private sector in taking action towards the greater good.
A B Local is also coming to Liverpool soon!
What can you expect from us?
2030hub will be hosting a variety of events including workshops and social gatherings, as well as releasing new and educational content every week of March to help you understand more about the importance of sustainability in business. Further, we will be publishing articles on our website to share insights into our own journey and longstanding advocacy for B Corp. What’s more, you can learn all about the Liverpool City Region’s Certified B Corporations and the work they are doing to support positive change in our upcoming content.
We will be hosting our B Corp Breakfast Briefing at the Old Hall on March 15th at 8:30 am. All businesses interested in becoming a B Corp and wanting support to navigate the certification process are invited to attend. Our in-house B Leaders will be there to assist you and present on “An introduction to B Corp” and hear from and meet other locally certified B Corps and their journeys.
Lastly, we will close off this incredible campaign by hosting a B Corp Liverpool Social & Quiz at the Hilton Liverpool City Centre on the 29th of March at 5:30 pm. All businesses are welcome to join us in celebrating everybody's local B Corp successes.
We'll be sharing registration links to our events from tomorrow at 9am!
2030hub will also be popping up across the country to support other events including East Lancs Chamber of Commerce in Accrington, at a breakfast event in London supporting our friends at OPEN Media and others hitting the public domain soon.
